The path from an empty organisation to an application its users open.
Everything belongs to an organisation: its users, its instances, its applications and its data. The organisation code prefixes the roles of its members and carries the boundary between tenants.
Services are provisioned from the Infrastructure console. An application needs an engine; a public site or a document store needs a CMS.
Provisioning creates the service, its database and its durable storage. Stopping an instance deletes nothing: the data is found again on restart.
Two paths lead to an application:
Publishing builds the application, then installs it on an engine. The wizard has four steps:
| Step | What it does |
|---|---|
| Build | builds the artefact from the models |
| Configuration | exposes the configuration document, editable without rebuilding |
| Security | declares the application's profiles and activities |
| Install | places the application on the chosen engine |
An installed application shows up in the workspace of the users who hold the matching rights.
